Welcome to OENZ- Outdoor Education New Zealand. The home of quality outdoor training in New Zealand. Our courses are open to the general public as well as schools and businesses.

We operate from Governors Bay, Lyttelton. You will find that most of our scheduled courses are delivered close to Christchurch. However, We are happy to send instructors to almost any location in New Zealand.

Weather Course Bookings

We have moved the booking form for our weather course, and this can now be found directly on the weather page.

This has allowed us to streamline the booking form and make joining the course much easier. We hope to see you join us for one of our upcoming weather courses for 2025.

New -Family-friendly training courses

Due to popular demand, we now offer a range of family-friendly training courses. These courses are open to everyone, even adults travelling alone.

On family-friendly courses, youths over 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Our standard training courses have an age minimum limit of 18 or 16 accompanied by a parent or guardian. Have a look at the course calendar for family-friendly course dates.

Transport to and from courses

We offer a free pick-up and drop-off service for most of our training courses. This service has become very popular for people flying into Christchurch. We’ll pick you up from any central city hotel!
